I can't believe we lost Michael Jackson! Everyone was really looking forward to seeing how great he'd be at the o2. ((((
Invincible will forever be one of my top 10 favourite albums of all time!
For as long as I can remember people have been disrespectful towards Michael Jackson.....his private life is his private life! As an American icon, he's done nothing but good!
I'll defend you forever, sir Michael!
I hope you are at peace, away from the media, knowing that to everyone that matters, you will be remembered for your incomparable contributions to American culture, to the world!!
We love you!!

football rant because that's all I've been caring about these past few weeks [Jan. 15th, 2009|10:34 am]
I am so disenchanted with the Champions League! Seriously the draws just don't do it for me.....Atletico-Porto? Don't care. Lyon-Barcelona? Don't care. But I never, ever want a French team to win lol. Arsenal-Roma? I'll stand behind Arsenal, those might be fun matches to watch. Inter-Manchester United? Um yeah I HATE INTER. Real Madrid-Liverpool- GO REAL MADRID! Chelsea-Juve- ehhh, don't ever want Juve to win. Villareal-Panathinaikos whatever, don't care about either, Sporting-Bayern, I'll go with Bayern. I don't know, I guess I'm just a little upset that Milan didn't make it. Will American channels even show the UEFA Cup? Ughhhh. I fuckin love this sport. Real men play it. They run for 45+ minutes around a pitch, break for a few, and then run around for more. "Soccer" is so beautiful to watch.

^^^^^JUST REMEMBERED I'LL BE IN EUROPE FOR THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE AND UEFA CUP MATCHES! THERE IS A GOD!

I personally think it is a joke that Kaka would ever move to Manchester City to play. It just does not seem a fit to me. I can see him playing in England, but not for Man. City. Plus he said he wants to "grow old at Milan". So it isn't happening. I'd like to watch a few City matches.

Alright if I had stayed BU at least I could have watched soccer. We got so many channels! I EVEN WATCHED ITALIAN SERIE C MATCHES! SERIE C! That's like third division! AMAZING.

I feel so disconnected from the soccer community. That will be my number 1 goal this upcoming semester in Italy, watch as much football (especially Italian and English), as humanly possible. I'll watch matches at bars, visit stadiums, read sports newspapers/magazines, and hopefully attend a few matches. At my study abroad "webinar" lol, the "mc" haha was like you need to set expectations for your semester abroad. That is my expectation, to take in as much soccer as I can. Just call me Adrienne Healey : )

This morning in the shower I started uncontrollably crying over my love and admiration for Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Madonna is the greatest teacher of all.

This weekend was entertaining when my parents came out to visit me. We went to the Western MA/NY state border. Scary place. We really were sort of petrified. We got no cell phone service, people were abnormally tall/strangely dressed. There is a reason why I thank God every night that I am a from Suffolk County and am of Italian blood/a Roman Catholic lol. Thank you God, now why have you plagued me with gray hair at such a young age? : (

Now I have school. So boring. Less than two weeks until Thanksgiving! Woo! I'm excited to see my family! I just talked to my insane Godfather, my Uncle Giulio. He is crazy and I love it.

The other night Vinny and I drank some wine in our hallway. The building is so unsafe and unguarded!

My parents are so overprotective! We were talking about me going abroad next semester, and my father is all "get me the phone numbers of the cops in Urbino, the hospitals in Urbino, the dean, your professors, any RA's, the names of all the Americans there, their parent's information....". It is una meraviglia that I am allowed to go abroad. If it were any other country besides Italy I would not be allowed to go. Thank God Italy is the best place on Earth! I am so looking forward to the beautiful ragazzi lol. And the food!

Christmas is the best time of the year! Christmas Eve. is always incredible! And the food on Christmas makes my life worth living haha. My cousin Alessandro will be in the country this Christmas! I am so excited!

Fascism is a topic in my Italian classes these days. I am excited for my professor Roberto to come to my little Tuesday night conversation class to discuss the issue. My father's family were/probably still are fascists. I'm proud of that lol.

I never have homework! Yay! I have essays to get done but I know I can write them like half asleep and still get a good grade. Not a bad deal at all! Woo!

Fleetwood Mac's Landslide is constantly playing in my mind these days. I love it!

Adios! I love you all.

"STAND UP! STAND UP AND FIGHT! AMERICA'S WORTH FIGHTING FOR!"- John McCain [Nov. 6th, 2008|05:36 pm]
to all those who complained that John McCain was just some old white guy who was about to die...
there were two other "old white guys", but they were pretty damn extreme!
Ralph Nader- OLD WHITE GUY- TOTALLY RADICAL
Ron Paul- OLD WHITE GUY- LIBERTARIAN!!!!!!!!
YEAHHHH!
I just need to say, I am really happy that my peers went out and voted. But, I am disgusted with the lack of respect that they showed Senator McCain and Governor Palin. Sure, I laughed at the SNL skits too, and think that Palin lacked foreign policy experience. However, to mock her because she went to a state school...........? Sorry we are not all able to attend Harvard Law! I thought "liberals" would be more respectful to McCain and Palin. I mean, God Forbid you say something not "politically correct" and they jump down your throat. But I mean hey, McCain's just some old white guy, make fun of him all you want! And because Palin has some "extreme right wing" views, it's fair game to be rude. It is her opinion. She holds that right. She is an educated woman, and a lot of people happen to agree with her politics, I am not one of them, but I respect those who agree with her. I respect those who agree with Obama by investigating his issues, but not the ones who just were brainwashed/thought it was cool to support him.

Enough!

bringing Kahuka back because I don't feel like logging into the other one [Oct. 26th, 2008|04:02 pm]
I do not understand this. I live on a predominately Asian floor. The Asians only talk to other Asians. The only white people they talk to are the ones that like study Japanese and are into anime. That is not fair! I want to befriend them too! But they only stick together! Seriously, I tried to introduce myself to a group of them last night, I was like "Hi, I'm Adrienne!", and then they all stared at me blankly and one of them said "....oh....I thought you said you were Asian?" WTF?! I'm done. It's kinda cool though, sometimes I pretend that I am in Tokyo lol.
I don't even care about school. I never have any homework. I do not want to be a political science major anymore. But I doubt I will do anything to change that. It does not even matter what I major in. Since I am going to be a stay at home mother.
I am so proud of my cousin for voting Barr haha.
Alright, Milan has Beckham on loan. My team has officially turned into a joke.
Have a great day. Adios!

How are you? Not sure when I wrote in this last.

Since then I think I have had some pretty good times. In the summer my cousins Alessandro and Andrea visited from Italy. It was great! I had only met them once before. Then, we visited them in Italy! My parents, siblings, grandmother, aunt, uncle, and cousin went to Italy for two weeks.

Italy was incredible. I have such great memories. Venezia is like another world. Toscana is a gorgeous place. Rome is the center of the universe. The Amalfi Coast/Positano/Praiano/Sorrento were unbelievable, as was the Adriatic Coast! But the best was Roccasicura, my father's little moutain village. I can not describe to you how much I love that place. I love my family there, I miss them so much! My cousins took us to a Beer Fest in the woods and we were out until 4am. Great memories.

The summer was good in general. I did not work a lot. I hung out a lot. I walked a lot.

Then, the fall semester, I went to school at the University of Vermont up in Burlington. It was an interesting experience. I really had to check it out. I enjoyed it a lot. I had two room mates, Denise and Kate. Kate has become one of my best friends in life, I love her and miss her and our adventures so much! But, UVM was far away from home, and, in my opinion, not worth the money. I miss UVM and my friends up there, but, I could not stay.

Then I had an awesome like 2 month winter break. I did not work one day.

Now I am at UMass-Amherst. It is great, I love living in Central. I like being closer to the homeland and the cheapness. But I want to go home and for it to be the summer.

My cousin is moving to the Netherlands, yay! She is going to have an awesome time! My friend Nicolita and I were going to withdraw from college and move to Europe a couple of weeks ago. Sadly, we did not.

School is boring I hate learning in the classroom. When you are surrounded by cheaters it makes it all look so pointless.

I voted for Barack Obama in the primaries and I regret it deeply. Go Hillary!

Bye! I love you!
